A Summer Sunset At Brookhill B&B
Things to do in the Mt Washington Valley!
New Hampshire's White Mountains are New England's Outdoor Playground...
The Mt. Washington Valley has been known for 200 years as one of New England's most desirable vacation destinations. Every season in the White Mountains offers a wide variety of recreational, social, and cultural activities. Brookhill Bed and Breakfast, located between North Conway NH and Jackson NH, is central to all of these opportunities and many of them are available at right at Brookhill B&B.
Our property borders on hundreds of acres of protected meadows and woodlands. In winter, ski from our door on 65km of trails groomed for classical skiing, skate skiing, and snowshoeing (use our snowshoes).
In summer, our meadows are filled with birdsong and wildflowers, and a walk along Dinsmore Brook or a swim in the Saco River have always been favorite pastimes at Brookhill B&B. Enjoy the use of our binoculars and telescope while lounging on the terrace watching birds and other wildlife (deer, fox, otter, bear, coyote and an occasional moose) is about as relaxing as it gets.
Some guests have told us they don't need their cars because they find plenty to fill their days right here.
A short walk from Brookhill Bed and Breakfast will take you to some of Mt. Washington Valley's finest restaurants and best pubs where you can enjoy lunch, dinner and entertainment. We've also been told our hearty breakfasts erase thoughts of lunch.
Winter Wonderland in Mt. Washington Valley
Seven Alpine ski areas are nearby with Attitash Bear Peak, Black Mountain, and Cranmore just a five-to-ten-minute drive from Brookhill Bed and Breakfast. Wildcat, Bretton Woods, King Pine, and Shawnee Peak are just a few miles further.
We also have three Nordic ski areas in our North Conway and Jackson neighborhood. Ski or snowshoe from our door on the trails of Mt. Washington Valley Ski Touring Center or try the trails at Bear Notch Ski Touring, Jackson Ski Touring, or Bretton Woods.
Old fashioned horse-drawn sleigh rides are popular and are great for romantic snuggling under cozy blankets. Ice skating is available all year at Ham Arena in Conway Village or outside in cold weather at Schouler Park in North Conway Village. More adventurous souls can try winter hiking, ice climbing, snowmobiling or dog sledding.
Warm Weather Activities in North Conway & Jackson
New Hampshire
Our White Mountain National Forest has over a thousand miles of trails that meander along streams and rivers and climb up and down our age-old mountains. Your innkeeper, Rod Forsman, has hiked most of these trails and likes nothing more (except doing them himself) than helping our guests map out a route that meets their needs, whether it be an easy walk or a vigorous hike.
Outdoor summer concerts recall days of yesteryear in New England when time seemed to move more slowly than it does in today's hurried world. They begin with picnic dinners spread out on quilts and blankets; the concerts follow and the evenings end with impressive fireworks displays. If you like, we can provide the picnic dinner and blankets or lawn chairs.
Our favorite musical event is the internationally respected Bach Festival held in North Conway every August since 1989. Mt. Washington Valley Theater Company, M&D Productions and The Barnstormers provide an impressive selection of live theater performances.
We have four golf courses nearby and the spectacular mountain views make it hard to keep your eye on the ball.

New Hampshire Fall Foliage, An Extravaganza of Color
Of course Fall foliage in New England, our busiest time of year, is a wonderland of color and we can guide you to the most popular routes for viewing the foliage. And having lived here in Mt Washington Valley, since 1980, we also know a few less well-known places we'll let you in on.
Your days can be as full as you want to make them and we are happy to help you plan them.
