Brookhill Bed and Breakfast is the ideal setting for a wedding, civil union or elopement - and we are known as a honeymoon destination. Our flagstone terrace overlooking lush meadows below and Mt Washington beyond is about as picturesque as any couple could imagine. And in winter months ceremonies in front of a roaring wood-burning fireplace in your own suite, are as romantic as it gets.
Your innkeeper, Rod Forsman, is a licensed minister and Justice-of–the-Peace and can provide both religious and civil ceremonies. He particularly enjoys assisting couples who want to participate in writing their own vows.
The only legal requirement for marriage in NH is a license. Application can be made at any NH town office and there is no waiting period before the marriage can take place. NH does not require blood tests (we like to keep things simple in The Granite State).
Civil Unions can be performed in NH as of January 1, 2008. Application forms for entering into a civil union are available at all NH town offices.
In spite of the "hard sell" of the wedding industry, many couples are choosing small ceremonies and going to the bank with what they have saved. We applaud this. "Small and intimate" is also far less stressful for all concerned.
Rod has officiated many weddings and several services of "holy union" at Brookhill before it became a bed and breakfast. We are delighted to continue this tradition. Our suite at Brookhill Bed and Breakfast is adorned with flowers and flowering plants in all seasons and in summer and fall our gardens are lush with flowers just waiting to be picked for a festive bouquet or flower arrangement.
